Rev. Dr. Robert MacReynolds is a New Jersey-based composer, arranger, pastor, chaplain, educator, and performing artist whose work bridges worship, higher education, ministry leadership, and professional music performance. He serves as Director of Music at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey.
MacReynolds earned a Doctor of Ministry degree with a concentration in Worship from Liberty University's John W. Rawlings School of Divinity (2026). His ministerial background includes extensive work across mainline Protestant churches, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton, and professional ministry leadership roles alongside the USAF Chaplain Corps at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ. For many years, he served as a civilian Director of Contemporary and Traditional Music Ministries at the installation. He is ordained as a Worship Pastor and Emergency Services Chaplain through the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey, a region of American Baptist Churches USA.
In addition to his call to pastoral leadership, Rev. MacReynolds is a longstanding member of the Federation of Fire Chaplains through an appointment with Wrightstown Volunteer Fire Company No. 1. His ministry philosophy reflects a strong commitment to worship, preaching, teaching, spiritual formation, outreach, and community engagement. Musically, “Rob Mac 88” has received international recognition through endorsement with Viscount International in Mondaino, Italy for his use of the Legend Soul 261 JDF modeled tonewheel organ, by Black Panther System in Germany for his strategic use of their premium keyboard stands, and by Motion Sound Amplification as a keyboard artist.
Throughout the course of his career, MacReynolds has shared performance opportunities with a wide range of distinguished artists and organizations. He accompanied jazz legend George Benson during an impromptu performance of “Green Dolphin Street” at an awards banquet and later provided solo piano music for special guests Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey at Six Flags hospitality events. He also accompanied a young choral ensemble at Joe Piscopo’s wedding at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark, New Jersey. Additional engagements have included performances associated with AT&T corporate events, jazz appearances sponsored by CentraState Medical Center at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and performances connected to K. Hovnanian. MacReynolds has also collaborated musically with Broadway tenor Jeff Keller, America’s Beloved Tenor Daniel Rodriguez, and soprano Sophia Clugston. He also participated in special music presentations for An Evening with Shaquille O'Neal. The event served as a fundraiser supporting the acquisition of MedEvac vehicles. He also performed at a realtor’s event hosted at the residence of former New York Mets and Boston Red Sox infielder John Valentin.
Following the tragedy of 9/11, MacReynolds participated in numerous remembrance services as a composer, arranger, pianist, and worship musician, including presentations of original patriotic music at Saint Mary’s Cathedral in Trenton. Prior to joining Georgian Court University, he served for more than seven years as a cathedral organist with directorial leadership responsibilities. He has directed contemporary and traditional worship music in Hamilton Township, New Jersey for decades with a stellar colleague, co-music director, and professional liturgist in Lori Hoos.
MacReynolds has also contributed extensively to community arts initiatives serving military families. He directed the musical dimensions of a faith-based arts camp for military children featuring percussionist Emedin Rivera of Eileen Ivers’ ensemble Immigrant Soul and drummer Odell Davis, formerly associated with projects involving Montel Williams and John McEnroe. Support from a Yamaha piano dealership enabled the development of a “Yamaha Clavinova Runway,” allowing children to participate using high-quality digital instruments. A significant high note at the event was provided for courtesy of Phillies Baseball. MacReynolds strategically arranged for the Philly Phanatic to enter the military installation to cheering children on the top of a military grade Hummer with staged musical support. An amazing core team of Air Force family members set the stage for the success in both indoor and outdoor chapel settings.
